"Two Doctors, Two Generations: Comparing a Father's and Son's Medical Ethics." A lecture by Dr. Barron Lerner on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

"Two Doctors, Two Generations: Comparing a Father's and Son's Medical Ethics."

Dr. Barron Lerner will explore how ethical precepts in medicine have evolved over the past 50 years by exploring the careers of two Jewish physicians, a father trained to be a paternalistic doctor and a son who studied and embraced a patient autonomy model. Using personal anecdotes, family stories and actual cases, Dr. Lerner will analyze why the characteristics and behaviors associated with being a "good" doctor have changed so dramatically in such a short period of time.
