Beit Lev is Kol HaLev's educational program serving children entering Kindergarten through fifth grade. We have created a more open, non-assumptive environment with a progressive Jewish educational experience for our children...and their parents.
Our mission is to provide students and their families with an understanding of and sense of belonging to the Jewish culture. Following Reconstructionist practices, we aim to develop an identity with Judaism through a progressive approach that emphasizes community, spirituality and culture.
Parents, professional educators and our Rabbi worked together to create developmentally appropriate curriculum for children and their families. Our programming is playful, engaging and, thought provoking.
During Beit Lev, parents gather for informal discussion and coffee with Rabbi Geoff. The adult conversation is broadly centered on the Jewish values that are touched upon simultaneously in the children’s program.
Beit Lev parents and Kol HaLev members are encouraged to volunteer with program. In its first year (2010-2011), Beit Lev welcomed more than 40 children from both member and non-member families! We hope you will join us in the coming year as we continue to grow.
Beit Lev meets two Sundays (10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) during each month of the school year for instruction, while opportunities for Tikkun Olam and community activities are integrated throughout the month. We also encourage families to participate in a monthly family Shabbat services at Kol HaLev. Click here to view our school schedule and important dates.
