Seeking Wisdom

There are certain books of the Hebrew Bible (and Apocrypha) that are surprisingly different from the rest. These books – Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes, Ben Sira and Wisdom of Solomon – share literary forms and themes, but more importantly a mind set and a world view that does not rely on Divine revelation. This literature displays a humanistic orientation, a mode of thought that focuses on individual consciousness of truth and right conduct. Its aim is to develop life strategies that will integrate the individual’s existence with the perceived order of the world.

Rabbi Geoff will lead us on a collective exploration of this literary legacy – part of our Adult Education programming – in a new and experimental format. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month we will meet via conference call. We will also meet in person once every other month at a convenient date and time. All are welcome to join at any time.
Because we will be using a call-in number, please register.
