Kol HaLev Story Programs

Have you ever wondered who you are really sitting next to in synagogue? Kol Halev has developed 2 meaningful and impactful Programs that answer this question and has had the effect of creating connection and a closer Jewish community of Kol Halev congregants.

The My Journey Story Series

The My Journey Story Series invites members of our community to share a meaningful part of their life story—an experience, challenge, lesson, or source of inspiration that has shaped who they are. Often, these are stories we would never otherwise know: a personal struggle that was overcome, a pivotal life experience, a cherished memory, or a moment that changed one’s perspective.

Each gathering features a 15-minute talk in which one individual share their journey while others listen with curiosity, respect, and full attention. Following the presentation, community members offer appreciation, reflecting on what touched, inspired, or resonated with them.

The My Journey Story Series creates a sacred space where people feel safe to be seen and heard. As stories are shared, trust and intimacy flourish, and we come to know one another more deeply. We discover that behind every familiar face is a unique and meaningful journey—and that by listening to each other’s stories, our community becomes
stronger, more compassionate, and more connected.

The Kol HaLev Story Circle

The Kol HaLev Story Circle is a monthly gathering that takes place around Rosh Chodesh, the beginning of each new Jewish month. Inspired by the unique theme and energy of the month, participants are invited to reflect on thoughtful prompts and share stories drawn from their own lived experiences. Appreciations are given to the storyteller after each story. Stories are 3-5 minutes each with multiple storytellers every month.

More than a storytelling program, The Story Circle is a space for meaningful connection. As participants listen and share, they build community, deepen relationships, and create heart-to-heart connections that foster a sense of belonging and intimacy.

At the heart of the Kol HaLev Story Circle is a commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment. Each person is invited to speak openly, knowing they will be listened to with care, attentiveness, and without judgment. In this atmosphere of trust, heartfelt stories emerge—stories of joy, challenge, memory, hope, and resilience.

Each month, as the new moon appears and a new chapter begins, the Kol HaLev Story Circle offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and discover the sacred connections that are formed when we truly listen to one another.
